Politico is still promoting ex-reporter Joe Williams, who is no longer working at the publication after saying that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is uncomfortable around people who are not white.
“A veteran political journalist and telegenic, quick-witted analyst, Joseph Williams is a White House reporter for POLITICO, where he covers the Obama administration cabinet and domestic policies, as well as examining the intersection of race and politics,” a description of Williams on Politico‘s website reads.
A former college football player, Williams is a 1984 graduate of the University of Richmond and studied at Harvard University as a 1996 Nieman Fellow.

Williams’s original controversial comments were first reported by the Washington Free Beacon.
Additionally, yesterday, FishBowlDC reported that Williams pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-wife.
