WHO: Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy Cook in Idaho WHAT: Her office is prosecuting Jeremy Hill in federal court for shooting a grizzly bear in his yard. Hill says he was only protecting his family.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: When bears kill humans to protect their cubs, officials defend their actions. When humans kill bears to defend their kids, officials haul them to court.

CURE: Next time, just shoot, shovel and shut up.
