Former employee of RNC, Trump campaign hired as liaison between both groups

The Republican National Committee and presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump announced late Wednesday the hiring of Ed Brookover, a former employee of both parties who will now serve as the liaison between both groups through the duration of the election.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Ed back to the RNC,” RNC Chief of Staff Katie Walsh said in a statement. “Ed’s decades of experience and depth of knowledge is a perfect fit for the RNC and the campaign.”

Brookover was pulled from Trump’s campaign where he most recently served as senior adviser to the New York businessman. Prior to joining Trump, he had served as the campaign manager for Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential bid until Carson dropped out.

He has worked in the political realm for more than three decades, including as political director for the RNC, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee.

“Ed is a total professional and the right man for the job,” Paul Manafort, Trump campaign chairman, said in a statement. “Ed has been an important member of our team since March and I’m confident he will only strengthen the strong relationship between the RNC and our campaign.”
