Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner reportedly traded the Beltway for oceanside Miami, signing a one-year lease at a luxury condo in the city’s Surfside neighborhood.
The couple’s digs are among the area’s priciest in real estate, with its penthouse recently being sold to a New York private equity executive for $33 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
On Thursday, moving trucks vacated Trump’s and Kushner’s previous home in the upscale Kalorama neighborhood in Washington, D.C. Their items are scheduled to be delivered to Miami.
The couple’s stay in the condo is expected to be temporary as they build a house on a $32 million lot purchased on Miami’s Indian Creek Island, which is gated and guarded by a small police force.
Amenities at the Miami condo include a 75-foot heated indoor lap pool, a private rooftop tennis court, a fitness center, a children’s playroom, and a residents’ lounge, according to its website.
The 16-unit building has direct elevator entry with fingerprint recognition technology, wraparound terraces with Roman travertine ceilings, European white oak flooring, and temperature-controlled parking spots. The building will also have 24-hour security, and the two are expected to bring in extra security.
Former President Donald Trump left office on Wednesday. He moved into his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, with former first lady Melania Trump. On his first full day as a private citizen after his term, Trump played golf.
