Al Sharpton tweets out wrong photo to remember ‘Cookie Roberts’

MSNBC host Al Sharpton deleted a tweet commemorating Cokie Roberts after her death, in which he misidentified her in photos he attached and misspelled her name.

“Saddened to hear the passing of legendary journalist Cookie Roberts,” Sharpton said in a Tuesday tweet. “Here is a Easter Sunday special we did in 2011. May she Rest In Peace.”

Sharpton, 64, attached four photos to the deleted tweet, which included still-living CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour instead of Roberts.

Roberts, a renowned journalist and political commentator, died Tuesday at 75.

Sharpton posted another tweet with corrected spelling and different pictures that featured Roberts.
