President Trump tweeted out praise from Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Brock Long on Saturday in the wake of Tropical Storm Florence’s landfall in the Carolinas.
Trump quoted the reportedly embattled Long as saying he is the most supportive president the agency has seen.
“Thank you Brock – it is my honor!” Trump posted to Twitter. “‘We (@FEMA) have never had the support that we have had from this President.’ Administrator @FEMA_Brock”

It was not immediately clear where Long made the comments.
Trump has come under fire for the handling of the aftermath of Hurricane Maria and the devastation it caused in Puerto Rico.
Several Trump critics have claimed he did not devote the same amount of time, money, and resources as he did to Texas and Florida after they experienced damage from hurricanes last year.
The administration also has been criticized recently for redirecting almost $10 million from FEMA to U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement earlier this summer, right ahead of the 2018 hurricane season.
On Friday, reports emerged that the administration was considering replacing Long amid an investigation that looks into whether taxpayers inappropriately paid for his travel to North Carolina on the weekends.
