Netflix makes way for more Dave Chappelle-produced comedy specials

Netflix will be streaming four new comedy specials produced by Dave Chappelle by the end of the month, the streaming service announced Friday.

To commemorate Black History Month, the platform will be featuring four Washington, D.C., comics starting Feb. 28.

Chappelle reportedly picked the comics himself, as he grew up in Washington. The specials will drop one at a time, with the comedian known as Earthquake’s episode releasing first.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos opted to continue streaming Chappelle’s controversial special The Closer despite outrage from some over the comedian’s jokes about the transgender community. Most recently, Chappelle stirred controversy when he spoke up at a local council meeting in Ohio.
