Mayor announces formation of Swann Park task force

A team of health and legal experts will convene to discuss the closing of Swann Park in South Baltimore due to arsenic tainted ground.

“The community deserves to know why the park is the focus of our attention in 2007 and not much sooner,” Mayor Sheila Dixon said in a statement.

Dixon and Health Commissioner Dr. Joshua Sharfstein Monday announced the formation of a task force to investigate the history of the arsenic pollution in one of the city?s recreation sites, as well as how to avoid surprises in the future.
