About 6,000 without power in upstate New York

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Utilities say about 6,000 homes and businesses remain without power in the aftermath of severe storms that killed four people and left a swath of property damage across central New York.

National Grid reported about 650 customers across the state with power outages as of late Wednesday, with the majority in central New York counties. NYSEG reported about 4,300 customers without power and Rochester Gas & Electric reported almost 1,000.

Early Wednesday morning, about 72,000 were without power in central and northern New York.
