WHO: U.S. Department of Agriculture WHAT: It gave $75,000 to the Michigan Christmas Tree Association and the collaborative effort by two Michigan commodities has been awarded a $75,000 grant to pay for “a campaign to let consumers know the important role Michigan plays in the production of trees and poinsettias.”
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: Of all the things the federal government could waste money on, this seems like one of the silliest. Could they at least use the money to give Christmas trees to poor people, or something else less dumb?
WHERE TO VENT: USDA, 202-720-2791.
