Police group warns of consequence from partial government shutdown

An organization that represents the largest law enforcement agencies in the nation is warning that the partial government shutdown could cause harm to public safety if not ended soon.

“The ability of the nation’s state and local law enforcement community to prevent, disrupt, and solve criminal activity/acts of terror depends heavily on fully functional federal partners. To be clear, the federal shutdown needs to end before we suffer unintentional consequence,” the Major Cities Chiefs Association tweeted Thursday.
