Advocates for the city’s neediest families, the D.C. Fair Budget Coalition, rallied in front of the Wilson Building on Monday because they’re worried the programs that help those they’re trying to help will get less money in next year’s budget because of a projected $164 million shortfall. They want Mayor Vincent Gray to change the city law that requires officials to place any money left over the previous year’s budget into savings. The coalition met last week with Gray’s chief of staff, according to Gray spokesman Pedro Ribeiro.
