Fred Thompson Withdraws

I don’t usually draw cartoons for Monday’s paper, but I had this idea in my sketchbook and didn’t want it to go to waste. It could be the last cartoon I draw about Fred Thompson! If he becomes a vice presidential nominee, however, I’d be delighted — he’s very caricaturable (is that even a word?), plus his somnolent demeanor cracks me up. I know I may catch some flak for this ‘toon from a certain reader of my blog (who will go nameless until he posts a comment in response), but I couldn’t resist!
