Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said President Trump is in a better position politically now than before the impeachment proceedings against him began.
“He’s had a number of bipartisan successes on trade deals. The economy is rolling along. The Gallup poll just came out. It’s the highest he’s had in this presidency, 49%,” Wallace said Wednesday. “As far as the political impact, I think you’d have to say that Donald Trump is better off now than he was when the impeachment process began.”

Trump was acquitted Wednesday by the Senate on both Ukraine-related charges he faced: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Democrats alleged that Trump misused his status as president when he pressured the leader of a foreign country to investigate his political rivals.
Trump said from the beginning, the impeachment against him is a “hoax” and motivated by “partisan hatred” against him.

“These are horrible, vicious people,” Trump said of Democrats on Thursday.
Trump is popular among Republicans, more than 95% of whom say they approve of the job is he doing as commander in chief.
Wallace said being acquitted on the impeachment charges gives Trump a great deal of momentum heading into the 2020 election.
“You do hope exactly as you say, for some peace, and quiet, and regular order,” Wallace said. “Even newsmen, I think, are hoping for that … This is gonna be a tough, bitterly fought campaign.”
