Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, agreed to a book deal detailing his time working for the commander in chief.
Broadside Books, a conservative imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, will publish his memoir, which is expected to be released in 2022.
“His book will be the definitive, thorough recounting of the administration — and the truth about what happened behind closed doors,” Broadside announced Tuesday.
The financial details of the book agreement were not made public.
Kushner, during his time as an adviser to the former president, worked on the administration’s foreign policy specifically as it relates to the Middle East. He participated in the administration’s normalization agreements, the Abraham Accords, between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.
He also worked on a criminal justice reform act Congress passed in 2018.
Despite those two achievements, Kushner has faced allegations of potential conflicts of interest and backlash for the previous administration’s coronavirus response.
In April 2020, he said, “I think you’ll see by June a lot of the country should be back to normal, and the hope is that by July, the country’s really rocking again,” and he called the White House’s response to that point to be a “great success story.”

Kushner’s book deal is notable given that some Republicans have had difficulties finding publishers willing to work with them.
Another publisher, Simon & Schuster, canceled a book deal with Sen. Josh Hawley after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot but later agreed to a deal with former Vice President Mike Pence.
“I turned down two book deals, from the most unlikely of publishers, in that I do not want to do such a deal right now,” Trump said June 11. “I’m writing like crazy anyway, however, and when the time comes, you’ll see the book of all books. Actually, I’ve been working on a much more important project right now!”
