NYPD officer killed in motorcycle crash

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say an off-duty New York City police officer has been killed in a motor cycle accident in Queens.

It occurred on Linden Boulevard and 158th Street around 5 p.m. Monday.

Police say Officer Curtis Johnson was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a Chrysler Concorde making a left turn. The 28-year-old officer was thrown from his bike, which then struck a Nissan Altima traveling on Linden Boulevard.

Johnson was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He worked at the 103rd Precinct in Queens and had been on the force for two years.

There were no other injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
