It’s more of the same, but that’s not so bad.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary as a franchise, “Armored Core” brings its fourth title to the next-generation platforms and, while there are a few aspects that need work, the strong points of the “AC” games have only gotten stronger.
Customization options for your mech suits are off the chart, letting players control how their armor looks and functions to a staggering degree. When you take those puppies out of the garage, things start to seem less impressive.
The colors are drab and the visibility is low. It stands to reason that in a waterlogged battleground things aren’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows, but the dust has to settle every once in a while, doesn’t it?
The multiplayer is exciting and lets players set their creations against each other, but the single player missions are boring and mainly consist of shooting down swarms of things.
Overall, it’s a fun title that is sure to entertain anyone familiar with the franchise or likes giant robots.
