‘A very happy young girl’: Greta Thunberg changes her Twitter bio after Trump joke

Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg responded to a tweet from President Trump by changing her Twitter bio and owning the humor.

Thunberg, a 16-year-old from Sweden, spoke at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, urging world leaders to take radical action to stop climate change.

“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back at school on the other side of the ocean. Yet, you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you,” Thunberg said. “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, and yet, I’m one of the lucky ones.”

“People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth,” Thunberg continued. “How dare you.”

Trump quote tweeted a clip of her speech with the caption, “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”

Thunberg took part of Trump’s tweet and added it to her Twitter bio. Her new bio says, “A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future.”
