A District of Columbia fire department sergeant under criminal investigation for sexual misconduct has resigned, according to D.C. Fire Chief Dennis Rubin.
Sources have told The Examiner that the sergeant is accused of exposing himself to a female EMS worker at the Engine 8 firehouse after she asked him for overtime.
“The D.C. Fire & EMS Department will never, ever tolerate this kind of behavior from any of its members,” Rubin said in a statement issued Monday.
Rubin said the sergeant resigned over the weekend after Rubin learned of the allegations and placed him on administrative leave.
