NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police say a man has died after becoming trapped between an elevator shaft wall and the elevator car.
Police say it happened just before 4 a.m. Monday at 680 Tinton Ave. in the Bronx.
Officers who responded to the scene discovered 20-year-old Tito Morales unconscious and unresponsive. He was trapped between the 18th and 19th floors. He was extracted and pronounced dead at the scene.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
The investigation into how the man became trapped is continuing.
