UPDATE: Elias Abuelazam has returned to Michigan for a Thursday afternoon arraignment, the Associated Press reports. Abuelazam left the Georgia jail where he was being held Thursday morning.
Elias Abuelazam, the man suspected in a series of stabbing attacks that killed five people and wounded 13 in Virginia and two other states, will be extradited to Michigan on Thursday.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon, according to the Michigan State Police. Abuelazam has been charged in Michigan with one count of assault with intent to commit murder.
Abuelazam, who used to live in Leesburg, is suspected in three non-fatal stabbings there. He has not been charged in Virginia.
