NEW YORK (AP) — You don’t need a beach for this fun in the sun.
New York City’s “Manhattanhenge” returns at 8:24 p.m. Friday. That’s when the sun lines up with cross streets before setting.
Nature will provide an encore performance at 8:25 p.m. Saturday.
The term “Manhattanhenge” was popularized by Hayden Planetarium Director Neil deGrasse Tyson.
The phenomenon reminded him of Stonehenge, where the sun aligns with ancient stones.
CBS New York (http://cbsloc.al/1jjUaGk ) says the best views will be on the wider crosstown streets. They include 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd and 57th streets.
