HOUSTON (AP) — A Texas janitor has been arrested after police say he stole credit cards and cellphones from cheerleaders at the University of Houston’s new stadium.
University police Lt. Bret Collier says 27-year-old Jacob Lee Bryant has been charged with theft and credit card abuse. The theft happened Aug. 28, the day before the university’s first football game at TDECU Stadium.
Bryant was working for an Aramark subcontractor. The cellphones of five cheerleaders were stolen along with some credit cards. Collier says Bryant used the cards to purchase $80 in clothing at Wal-Mart and a pack of cigarettes at a gas station.
Bryant is being held at the Harris County jail on $30,000 bond. Online records didn’t indicate an attorney.
Texas-San Antonio on Aug. 29 beat Houston 27-7.
