Free cabs will be offered to St. Patrick’s Day celebrants from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday, courtesy of a local nonprofit. The Washington Regional Alcohol Program is sponsoring the cab rides, worth up to $30, in an effort to prevent drunken driving. Last year, more than 500 St. Patrick’s Day celebrants took advantage of the cabs, which provide service in Washington and Northern Virginia, and Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland.
