Aegis Industries Inc., a Rockville-based designer and developer of law and self-protection tools, is entering into merger discussions with Z5 Technologies LLC.

Headquartered in Washington, Z5 Technologies is a mobile command and communications network company. Under the proposed terms of the merger, Aegis would purchase all outstanding shares of Z5 stock, while the principals of Z5 would receive an equity interest in Aegis.

“Their product line is a natural fit with our business philosophy and our plans for the future growth of the Company,” Paul Evancoe, president of Aegis, stated in a release.
