Gore plans to debut a sequel to ‘An Inconvenient Truth’

Former Vice President Al Gore plans to debut a sequel in January to his 2006 documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” according to the Associated Press.

Gore’s latest film will build on his first documentary, which spread international awareness about global warming and was credited with energizing environmental activists across the country. Paramount Pictures will premiere the sequel at the annual Sundance Film Festival early next year.

“A decade after we took a risk in backing a film centered around a slide of show presentation and one human’s quest to awaken global consciousness about our changing planet, we are proud to bring global audiences a promising update: that a future powered by clean, safe, renewable, inexpensive, non-polluting energy is no longer a dream but a very attainable reality,” said Jeff Skoll, the film’s executive producer.

Prior to the announcement of his sequel, Gore was in the news last week for meeting with President-elect Trump and his daughter, Ivanka, to discuss climate change and environmental issues.

Following the meetings, Gore said he and Trump had a “very productive” conversation during which they found “common ground.”

The title of Gore’s newest film has not yet been revealed.
