Republican Sen. Bob Corker said late Friday that he had a phone conversation with President Trump about healthcare.
“I had a nice talk tonight with @realDonaldTrump about health care,” Corker said in a tweet, hours after Republicans in the House failed to initiate a vote on a bill that was intended to repeal and replace Obamacare when it became all but certain it didn’t have the votes to pass.

“At some point, on behalf of the American people, we have to resolve the issues that are driving up costs, limiting choices, and causing the individual market to spiral downward,” Corker said in a statement. “I stand ready to work with the administration and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in order to fix our broken health care system.”
Though President Trump is now pushing Republicans to move on to tax reform, another senator, Rand Paul, said Friday evening that lawmakers should attempt to pass legislation on tax reform and an Obamacare repeal simultaneously.
