A man sought by police for more than two years after a fatal shooting in Silver Spring has been arrested in Knoxville, Tenn. on other charges.

Montgomery County police had issued a warrant for Tyshon Jones after four men assaulted Julian Kelly, 27, on Aug. 21, 2010. One person shot Kelly, and he died from his injuries a few weeks after the assault. The police investigation identified Jones as the suspected shooter.

Three other suspects, Shamire Moore, Charles Baxter and Khalil Fields, were arrested and charged shortly after the incident.

Jones, who was charged with assault and disorderly conduct in Tennessee, will be returned to Montgomery County after extradition hearings.
