Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley announced Tuesday a new “one-stop-shop” for job seekers in Maryland. The expansion of the Maryland Workforce Exchange was funded by $3 million in federal stimulus money and $1 million from the Labor Market Information Green Grant.
More than 80,000 jobs are listed, according to the website.
The announcement comes the same day the U.S. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation announced Maryland’s unemployment rate inched up 0.2 points to 7.3 percent in August following the loss of 1,400 U.S. Census jobs.
