Amid reports of heightened tension between the Republican National Committee and Donald Trump, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus will join the billionaire in Texas Thursday night on the one-year anniversary of his presidential campaign.

“Great events lined up all over Texas,” he added, noting his confidence that Republicans “will win” in November.
The tweet, which was later shared by Trump himself, followed a flurry of reports Thursday morning about the growing frustration among RNC staffers who claim the Trump campaign has refused to heed their advice or take significant steps to expand its operation in preparation for the general election.
“Tensions Growing as Trump Campaign Brushes Off RNC Advice,” reported NBC News, less than 24 hours after Politico claimed Trump’s relationship with the committee had grown “sour.”
Sources familiar with the conversations happening between Trump and the committee told NBC News that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has yet to fulfill requests to bolster his communications operation with a rapid response team and other hires, nor has he adjusted his messaging so that he is no longer putting GOP lawmakers in uncomfortable positions.
“He fundamentally doesn’t believe he needs to campaign as usual,” one source reportedly said.
Priebus on Wednesday appointed Trump’s senior aide Ed Brookover, who previously served as RNC political director, to act as a liaison between the campaign and committee going forward.
A spokeswoman for the Trump campaign claimed she and her colleagues have maintained a “great relationship with the RNC” and that they “look forward to working together to defeat Hillary Clinton and the Democrats in November.”
