So, the polarizing, always-controversial Karl Rove has bid goodbye to politics. Too bad for President Bush there’s still at least one more of that type in his administration: Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. (Not to mention the ol’ Cheney.)
I had about four other sketches dealing with Rove’s resignation. My second favorite was probably too easy. It was Rove exiting from a hatch in Bush’s head with a packed bag. I think the one that made muster works much better because it advances the story. Despite Rove’s seven years of omnipresence behind the scenes in Washington, politics will go on just fine without him.
And now how about a quick trip down memory lane? Here are some old cartoons of mine with Rove in them, if you’re feeling nostalgic already …
My first stab at caricaturing him …
Here I am playing around with my drawing style a bit …
Gotta love Rummy and Bolton, too …
… I’ll miss Karl Rove. *sniff*
