A murder suspect in Prince George’s County was mistakenly released from custody after another defendant’s paperwork was placed into his file.
Fredrick Lawrence Scott was arrested in May and accused with fatally shooting a District man after a fight inside a Prince George’s County club on March 4.
Scott typically would have been held without bond, but due to the clerical error, he was able to gain his release on a $75,000 bond, according to court spokeswoman Angelita Plemmer.
Officials don’t know when the paperwork was erroneously filed, but the issue wasn’t noticed until Nov. 14, four days after Scott was released. Police said his whereabouts are unknown.
