Biden stumps for McGinty in Pennsylvania

Vice President Joe Biden stumped for Democratic Senate candidate Katie McGinty on Monday while accompanying Pennsylvania’s senior Democratic senator, Bob Casey, on their way to an official White House event Monday at the Community College of Philadelphia.

Biden and Casey stopped at Philadelphia’s Mayfair Diner to promote McGinty, former chief of staff to Gov. Tom Wolf, in her bid to unseat GOP Sen. Pat Toomey. McGinty faces former Rep. Joe Sestak in Tuesday’s Senate Democratic primary.

Biden and Casey worked the room on behalf of McGinty, whom the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is backing over Sestak, who lost Pennsylvania’s 2010 open Senate race to Toomey.

“He came all the way from Washington just to tell you to vote for me,” McGinty said, according to a White House pool report.

“I hope you’ll look her over,” Biden said to one couple in the diner. “If you don’t, Bob Casey and I are going to come to your house,” he joked.
