Ex-MSNBC host Krystal Ball rebuked her former network for its wall-to-wall coverage of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Ball, now the host of Hill.TV’s Rising with The Hill’s Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti, opened the show Thursday by ridiculing MSNBC’s coverage, likening it to InfoWars, while specifically singling out Rachel Maddow.

She pointed out that the president and his associates “clearly sought to work with Russia. They used Russian illegal activity to their own benefit, and then they lied about the whole mess.”
However, she added, “It doesn’t feel like a damning set of facts when for months, MSNBC built segment after segment, show after show on building anticipation for a big reveal when we would learn the true depths of Trump’s fealty and direct conspiracy with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin.”
Ball also pointed out that MSNBC has invited fringe individuals on the network to speculate about the president’s alleged nefarious behavior.
For example, the network had Jonathan Chait on to lay out his theory that Trump could’ve been a “Russian asset since 1987″ and also welcomed former Conservative member of the U.K. Parliament Louise Mensch on the air, despite her having alleged that former White House strategist Steve Bannon could be facing the death penalty for espionage.
“Of course, in many ways, Trump really is the crook that we said all along,” Ball added. “But by trying to make the spectacular case, we set the bar unimaginably high and made Trump’s actual corruption, broken promises and casual cruelty seem ordinary by comparison.”
