A D.C. man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for two carjackings, including one in which he stabbed a victim in the stomach.
Prosecutors said Robert Pulley, 41, approached a woman in the parking lot of the Shiloh Baptist Church at Ninth and P streets NW in June, armed with a butcher knife and threatened to kill her unless she gave him money. Pulley took $40 and her car keys and fled in her vehicle.
A month earlier, Pulley called a person who was selling a vehicle, and the car owner met Pulley in the 900 block of N Street NW, prosecutors said. Pulley pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the abdomen. He tried to stab the man again in the head and neck before taking the car and driving off.
Officers found Pulley in the stolen vehicle. He crashed it into a fence and fled on foot. Police arrested him and recovered the knife.
