WHEATON, Ill. (AP) — A former school bus driver from northern Illinois has been sentenced to 20 days in jail for driving drunk while on duty.

Forty-three-year-old Jill Beebe of South Elgin pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence.

She was arrested last September while working her route in West Chicago after a school employee reported that she thought she smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath.

Beebe failed a field sobriety test administered by police.

DuPage County Judge George Bakalis sentenced her Monday to jail time plus two years of probation and ordered her to perform 50 hours of community service.
