President Trump and the Republican National Committee have raised approximately five times as much as the leading Democratic candidate fundraiser during the third quarter.
Trump and the RNC combined to raise about $125 million in the third quarter, which broke a presidential fundraising record. Since the beginning of the year, they have raised more than $308 million and have a war chest of more than $156 million in the bank.
Comparatively, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont led the 2020 Democratic presidential field in fundraising for the third quarter, and he raised only $25.3 million. His rival Sen Elizabeth Warren just barely lost to him, raising approximately $700,000 less than Sanders. No other candidate surpassed $20 million.
“Americans are voting with their wallets right now and President Trump and the RNC are the clear winners, no Democrat is coming close. In the first 48 hours since Democrats launched their bogus impeachment inquiry, we’ve added 50,000 new online donors, a clear sign enthusiasm is on our side,” RNC spokesman Steve Guest told the Washington Examiner Friday.
The next four candidates in fundraising for the quarter were South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at $19.1 million, former Vice President Joe Biden, who raked in $15.2 million, Sen. Kamala Harris at $11.6 million, and Andrew Yang who raised $10 million.
UPDATED: RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told the Washington Examiner that “Boycotts from Hollywood liberals and Democrats’ shameful attacks on private citizens, along with unprecedented support for our President, boosted the RNC to break fundraising records again this quarter. We are investing millions on the airwaves and on the ground to hold House Democrats accountable, highlight their obstruction, and take back the House and re-elect President Trump in 2020.”
Trump campaign chairman Brad Parscale also told the Washington Examiner, “President Trump has built a juggernaut of a campaign, raising record amounts of money at a record pace. With our great partnership with the RNC and Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, we will re-elect the President and win back the House of Representatives.”
