SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A suspect in the May slaying of an off-duty police officer outside a San Antonio tattoo parlor has been returned to Texas after being caught in Ohio.
Officials say Jerry Idrogo (uh-DROH’-goh) of San Antonio arrived Wednesday for booking into the Bexar (bayr) County jail.
Idrogo is held without bond on a murder charge over the May 4 fatal shooting of Balcones (bal-KOH’-nays) Heights Officer Julian Pesina (puh-SEE’-nuh). Pesina was gunned down outside the tattoo parlor he co-owned after allegedly being called by Idrogo to arrange a meeting.
Idrogo was sought on a warrant and arrested Aug. 29 in Toledo, Ohio, where he has relatives. He’s accused of being the getaway driver for two gunmen who remain at large.
Authorities have not released a possible motive for the slaying.
