Bush can’t Gitmo satisfaction. Sorry, I couldn’t resist!
Much like the NSA’s domestic wiretapping, the system set up to try Guantanamo Bay detainees seems to stretch the boundaries (and spirit) of the law. I do bet most of those guys locked up in Gitmo are violently anti-American, but it is troubling when the military tribunals keep operating with such ham-fisted inefficiency. (ex. Military judges recently throwing out multiple cases.) On top of that, just about everybody except President Bush and his coterie agrees that Gitmo should be shut down.
So, you see, something’s gone horribly awry.
