A man found shot to death in a parking lot in District Heights Thursday afternoon has been identified as 19-year-old Suitland resident Darryl Nicholas McCoy, police said Friday.
McCoy was found shot in a parking lot outside the Oakcrest Towers, on the 2000 block of Brooks Drive, at 2:18 p.m. on Thursday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Prince George’s County police.
Police are looking for a motive and a suspect.
The homicide was the first for the county in 2012. Police are adding 150 officers to nightly patrols in areas inside the Capital Beltway during January in an effort to prevent a surge in homicides similar to January 2011, when 16 were killed.
