This past weekend I was in New York City for a family event, so drawing a cartoon about Paris Hilton seemed like a good way to get back in the groove. With all these serious topics — like immigration or Iraq — to draw about, it’s refreshing sometimes to swing my pen toward the absurdity of pop culture. Also, it’s much more pleasant to caricature someone like Paris Hilton than, say, John McCain.
In dental news, my root canal went smoothly. The procedure was incredibly barbaric, but not really painful until well after it was over. All things considered, I still wouldn’t wish a root canal on anyone … even Paris Hilton.
