President Trump admitted this week that he’s surprised at how media coverage of his administration has gotten worse since he was sworn in as president.
“The truth is, I got a raw deal,” Trump told Time magazine.
“It’s gotten worse,” he said. “It’s one of the things that surprises me.”
Trump said he has tried to ignore the bad news as a way of coping.
“I’ve been able to do something that I never thought I had the ability to do,” he said. “I’ve been able not to watch or read things that aren’t pleasant.”
Trump also repeated his argument that the press is missing the main story of the day, which is how he was surveilled by the Obama administration. He also complained that his press staff hasn’t been able to get that story across to the press, which is focused on his alleged ties to Russia.
“The real story is the surveillance,” he said. “But my comms people can’t get it out.”
