Rory McIlroy said fellow pro golfer Tiger Woods may be returning home from the hospital soon following his February car crash.
On Tuesday, McIlroy appeared on The Tonight Show, where he told host Jimmy Fallon that he has been in communication with his fellow golfer. Woods’s representatives have been mum about the golfer’s condition and haven’t provided any updates since Feb. 28, according to ESPN.
“I’ve spoken to him a little bit,” McIlroy said. “He’s doing better.”
“I think all the guys have reached out to him,” McIlroy said of other pro golfers. “Hopefully, if things go well over the next week or so, he might be able to get home and start recovery at home, which would be great for him. See his kids, see his family.
TIGER WOODS SAID HE ‘DID NOT EVEN REMEMBER DRIVING’ ON DAY OF CRASH, POLICE SAY
“But yeah, he’s doing better. And I think all of us are wishing him a speedy recovery at this point,” he added.
The Feb. 23 crash happened in Los Angeles. Police said that Wood’s Genesis GV80 is believed to have hit a median, crossed multiple lanes of traffic, hit the curb, a tree, and then flipped multiple times.

Police have obtained a search warrant to examine the SUV’s “black box” in an attempt to figure out what happened that led to the crash, which left the five-time Masters Tournament winner with several leg injuries and cuts on his face.
Woods, who was initially knocked unconscious by the crash, told responding authorities that he did not remember what happened, according to a search warrant affidavit.
