‘More exposed’: After Trump interview, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace says Biden is due for grilling

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace urged Joe Biden to go through a rigorous interview similar to the one he conducted with President Trump.

The journalist and host of Fox News Sunday said on Monday that Biden, a former vice president, is “going to have to be more exposed” than he has been so far in the 2020 presidential contest and “take questions just as tough as the ones I asked this president.”

During an appearance on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom, Wallace also noted that Biden has done “a few events” that he said were “pretty selective” and often times was just the candidate “reading from a teleprompter.”

“The president is out there. He’s out there in this broiling heat with me for an hour, took all the questions. You can like his answers or dislike them, but he had answers,” Wallace added, referring to the Trump interview.

Wallace’s interview with Trump, which aired Sunday, turned contentious at times, including when the journalist fact-checked Trump on comments he made about Biden’s stance toward police and the country’s coronavirus mortality rate.

Trump also encouraged Biden to do a similar interview and predicted that the former vice president would not fair very well.

“Let Biden sit through an interview like this,” Trump said. “He’ll be on the ground crying for mommy. He’ll say, ‘Mommy, mommy, please, take me home.’”
