Former CBS correspondent Lara Logan predicted she will “pay the price” for slamming the media as hopelessly left-wing, naming those she believes will ruin her career.
“I know they’re going to come after me,” she said in an interview with Fox News Wednesday.
“Michael Calderone who is at the Huffington Post. I can give you the script now. I can tell you who the players are. Joe Hagan. Brian Stelter,” she said, referencing Vanity Fair’s Joe Hagan and CNN’s Brian Stelter. Calderone has sinced moved to Politico.
“They smear you personally. They go after your integrity,” she said. “They go after your reputation as a person and a professional. They will stop at nothing.”

Logan’s comments come after she said, “responsibility for fake news” begins with journalists and berated the “liberal” media during a podcast with retired Navy SEAL Mike Ritland last week. Logan accused the media of being “mostly liberal” and said that journalists are no longer pursuing objectivity, arguing reporters have morphed into “political activists.”
She also said American media is analogous to the Western Wall in Israel, where women are given a smaller portion of the wall to pray than men.
“To me, that’s a great representation of the American media, is that in this tiny little corner where the women pray you’ve got Breitbart and Fox News and a few others, and from there on, you have CBS, ABC, NBC, Huffington Post, Politico, whatever, right? All of them,” Logan said.
“And that’s a problem for me, because even if it was reversed, if it was vastly mostly on the right, that would also be a problem for me,” she added. “My experience has been that the more opinions you have, the more ways that you look at everything in life.”
The comments prompted Stelter and Calderone to respond, noting that Logan and CBS severed ties.
“Lara Logan stopped working at CBS last year, but right-wing websites keep making it sound like she’s still there,” Stelter tweeted Tuesday after Logan’s initial interview. “I guess they didn’t fact-check.”
A spokesperson for CBS confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Logan departed the network in 2018, a disclosure first reported by Variety following her interview with Ritland.
Calderone also brought up Logan’s flawed report that aired on CBS about the September 2012 Benghazi attacks where four Americans were killed. Logan’s reporting cited an interview with security contractor Dylan Davies, who told her he was at the compound at the time of the attack, even though he had previously told the FBI, the State Department, and others the opposite was true.
“Lara Logan calls the media ‘mostly liberal, suggests reading Breitbart, and accuses Media Matters of targeting her over Benghazi,” Calderone tweeted Monday. “Reminder: Logan’s Benghazi report was discredited for journalistic reasons, not political ones.”
In her interview with Fox News, Logan accused the liberal media for “smearing you personally” and calling one’s integrity into question, rather than going after “substance.”
“They go after your reputation as a person and a professional,” Logan said. “They will stop at nothing. I am not the only one. And I am just, I am done, right, I am tired of it. And they do not get to write my story anymore. They do not get to speak for me, I want to say loudly and clearly to anybody who is listening, I am not owned. Nobody owns me, right? I’m not owned by the left or the right.”
