MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) — Marquette General Hospital plans to spend $300 million over the next 10 years to renovate and expand its Upper Peninsula facilities.
WLUC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/10RaIga ) the hospital announced the plans Monday at the Marquette City Commission meeting, and some improvements are already taking place. A new medical office building, a unified cancer center and a patient tower renovation are in the works.

The plans come after Marquette General Hospital was sold last year to a joint venture involving Duke University Health System.
Duke LifePoint Healthcare is a joint venture between the health system at North Carolina’s Duke University and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals Inc.
