President George H.W. Bush’s brother, Jonathan Bush, dies

Jonathan Bush, one of the late President George H.W. Bush’s siblings, has died at 89.

It’s unclear exactly when Bush died, though the George and Barbara Bush Foundation confirmed his death on Thursday. He would have celebrated his 90th birthday on Thursday.

“The foundation pauses to mourn the passing of President Bush’s beloved brother Jonathan. Our prayers and love are with the bush family as we remember a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, a fine gentleman and a noble soul,” a statement from the foundation reads. “And knowing Jonathan, he also would like for us to observe he was a great song and dance man — without a doubt the best dancer of his siblings, all of whom he now joins in heaven.”

Jonathan Bush was the last survivor of his five siblings. His siblings were Prescott Bush Jr., Nancy Bush Ellis, William Bush, and former President George H.W. Bush.
