Kellyanne Conway: ‘Looks like’ Biden will be president

Kellyanne Conway broke from her former boss, President Trump, and said that his chances of winning a second term are bleak.

The former White House counselor told the 19th that “it looks like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will prevail” during an interview with Washington correspondent Amanda Becker that aired Friday.

“If you look at the vote totals in the Electoral College tally, it looks like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will prevail,” she explained. “I assume the electors will certify that, and it will be official. We, as a nation, will move forward because we always do.”

The president has refused to concede the election, claiming the contest was stolen due to widespread voter fraud and other issues. His legal team is relying on a patchwork of lawsuits and convincing GOP-led state legislatures to overturn the results of the contest, but so far, the team has seen little success.

Conway, who led Trump’s 2016 campaign to victory, said the president has grounds to wage a legal fight.

“The president wants to exhaust all of his legal avenues, as he has made clear many times. His team is doing that, and that is his right,” she said.

States are wrapping up the certification of their election results, and the Electoral College is set to meet on Dec. 14.
