So many … crystals

The “Crystal Chronicles” games haven’t been living up to the Final Fantasy brand, and “Ring of Fates” is no exception.

Like the Gamecube installment, “Ring of Fates” uses an awkward magic casting system that makes hitting moving targets with anything but low-level spells extremely difficult.

Character advancement is linear and uninteresting, but the varied weapon customization and crafting makes up for it.

For a hand held RPG, it isn’t bad, but for a Final Fantasy game, it’s sub-par.
