Samantha Power delivers ominous message to Trump: ‘Not a good idea to piss off John Brennan’

Samantha Power, who was U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under former President Barack Obama, warned President Trump on Saturday that it was “not a good idea to piss off John Brennan” after the former CIA director told him in a tweet that America would “triumph over you.”

Brennan was responding to news that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, a move praised by the president amid investigations that found McCabe “had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor − including under oath − on multiple occasions.”

Brennan, who served as CIA director under Obama, warned Trump on Twitter that when his “venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history.”

McCabe has reportedly written memos about his time at the FBI, including interactions with Trump, which he has submitted to Robert Mueller, the FBI special counsel who is investigating Russian interference in the U.S. elections.

Obama administration allies have previously hinted at possible intelligence community retribution against Trump.

In January 2017, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., warned Trump that the intelligence community had “six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”
